b209 helps companies make their products connected — IoT expertise and rapid prototyping. They needed a presence online and arrived with an idea rather than a brief: no spec, no wireframes, no agreed scope.

I ran the requirements conversations with the client directly, turned what came out of them into direction our UX designer could work from, and built the result. Three jobs that would normally belong to three people, on a single-page site.

How it was built

I started from an open-source Tailwind landing page template instead of building from scratch. b209 needed a credible presence, not a bespoke design system — so the time went into working out what the company was actually trying to say, and to whom. Across thirty-eight commits I removed more code than I added, stripping the template down to what they needed and replacing everything that identified it as someone else's.

The contact form runs through EmailJS, which keeps the site fully static: no endpoint to secure, monitor, or hand over to a client with nobody to maintain it. Motion is Framer Motion for components and AOS for scroll reveals. Search visibility got its own passes rather than being an afterthought — for a specialist consultancy, being findable is most of the job.

It shipped in early 2024, and they brought me back a year later to rework the content and positioning.
